Seth Singleton
Seth J. Singleton joined Whitten Law Office in October 2025, where he concentrates his practice on civil defense litigation, with a particular focus on trucking and transportation defense.
Prior to joining Whitten Law Office, Seth practiced for nearly seven years at one of the largest Kentucky-based law firms where he concentrated his practice on civil defense litigation. His extensive experience spans a wide range of legal issues, including real estate law, employment and labor law, long-term care litigation, premises liability, professional liability, and general tort and insurance defense.
This broad civil defense background provides a strong foundation for his trucking and transportation practice. Seth brings substantial experience analyzing complex liability questions, defending catastrophic injury claims, working closely with insurers and corporate clients, and developing early risk assessments in high-exposure matters—skills directly applicable to commercial motor vehicle litigation.
Seth also brings valuable experience in real estate transaction, general and complex business litigation, corporate law and governance, and debtor-creditor relations. His diverse background allows him to approach each case with both strategic insight and practical perspective.
In addition to his litigation work, Seth has developed a strong track record for successfully resolving matters through mediation. He is known for his ability to assess risk, communicate effectively with all parties, and craft creative solutions that often avoid the expense and uncertainty of trial.
At the start of his legal career, Seth practiced at a large national law firm, where he focused on labor and employment law, health care law, product liability, premises liability, and general civil defense litigation. His exposure to high-stakes matters at both local and national levels has informed his careful, results-driven approach to legal advocacy.
Seth earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law, graduating in the top third of his class. While in law school, he clerked for Judges Thomas D. Wingate and Phillip J. Shepherd of the Franklin Circuit Court, and served as a research assistant to Professor Mary J. Davis, contributing to seminal works such as Owen & Davis on Products Liability and Products Liability and Safety.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics. There, he developed a strong foundation in business operations, management, finance, ethics, and regulatory compliance—skills he continues to apply in service to his clients.
Seth is admitted to practice in all Kentucky state courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. He is a member of both the Kentucky Bar Association and the Louisville Bar Association.
Outside of the office, Seth enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, hiking, antiquing, playing the piano, and reading. He also finds joy in the company of his beloved pets.
